Welcome to “My NEW New Years Resolution”, a blog that will follow my New Year’s Resolution to try at least one new thing every week. My new experience every week could consist of trying a new food, going to a new place, trying a new activity, or meeting a new person. Some of the new adventures may seem small, so small in fact, you may wonder why I record it at all, while some new experiences may end up being significant in my life. However, all new experiences should be acknowledged and examined. So, why am I choosing to try one new thing every week? Doing new things keeps your mind open and allows you to feel things you have never felt before. Sometimes new experiences can be scary, which that fear will keep many of us going to the same places and doing the same things again and again. I hope this blog may inspire people to get out of their comfort zone and try something new. As a matter of fact, I am also hoping to inspire myself. 2009 was a year of loss for me, I lost a job I enjoyed, a relationship ended and a good friend passed on. I want 2010 to be a year of new beginnings; a year that reminds me life can be great.
Some of these experiences I will be doing alone and some will be done with friends of mine who would also like to have new adventures. For each new experience I have, I will be adding an entry to the blog with details of my experience, pictures and details in case you would like to try it for yourself. My weeks will run Monday through Sunday, hopefully I will have new experiences lined up ahead of time, but just in case I am going to end with the weekend to give me some extra time if I need it.
For those of you who know me, know I have tried this once before and may have succeeded simply because of all the traveling I was doing at the time, however I did not do that well at recording all of my new doings. This blog will keep me in check with actually doing something new every week and recording it. As I go on my journey to new foods, activities, places, people, etc. I will ask for suggestions on new things you would like me try or recommendations of things you have tried that you think I will enjoy or should just do.

I took a nice photo of you “underway” during the weekend ride. Not sure how to send it to you.
All the best!
Cheers!
